Sophie Ronson is, or rather was, Kyra Blaine's bridesmaid in "A Rose for Everafter. She introduced Kyra to Greg Murphy, and in repayment, though no longer an active part of their circle, was invited to the wedding. Her problems came to the ears of Greg's Uncle Teddy, who offered to bankroll her, in return for her assistance in breaking up the happy couple. Teddy was the executor of Greg's estate until he married, and was skimming massively, a fact which would come to light once the younger man took control of his own money.

Sophie, upon arrival in New York, went wedding dress shopping with Teddy, but in this case it was the bridesmaid who got cold feet, telling her benefactor, in front of the shop owner, that she wasn't sure she could go through with it. Teddy proceeded to threaten her, less than subtly, and Sophie backed down. The night before the wedding she roofied the best man, Mike Weitz, and using the keycard she took from him got into his room, and, via the connecting door, from there into Greg's room, where she proceeded to try to seduce him. She was audio recording the whole thing to play to Kyra later, if Greg failed to call things off himself. The planned seduction went south, however, when Greg unequivocally rejected her advances, and Sophie, humiliated, fled from the room. She bumped into Teddy and told him of her abject failure, at which point the older man decided to cut his losses, and avoid the risk of his plan being exposed, by choking her to death. Unluckily for him, his platinum tiepin scratched her back as he throttled her, and the DNA recovered was enough to prove his crime.
