Battle of Dathomir
rdfs:comment
The Batte of Dathomir was a battle that occured in 20 BBY during the final stages of the Clone Wars. It was instigated by Count Dooku who, upon learning of the treachary of the Nightsisters clan, had ordered General Grievous and a large force of the Separatist Droid Army to Dathomir to kill Ventress and exterminate the entire clan as punishment for their actions against Dooku. The Battle of Dathomir was an devastating engagement between the Sith, and the Jedi during the Sith Crusade. A stunning victory for the Sith, every last Jedi on the planet was killed; and the Jedi academy destroyed. Jaina Solo, the commanding officer at the time was also killed during the battle whilst the Dathomiri Night sister, Feloma was arrested. In Battle of Sullust, Count Dooku betrayed his Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress under orders of his master. Ventress, mad and full of desire to have her revenge, traveled to her homeworld of Dathomir. There she reunited with her long forgotten Nightsister clan who took her in and agreed to help her in quest to kill Dooku. After a failed assassination attempt on Serenno,Dooku not knowing that it was the Nightsisters who tried to eliminate him went to Dathomir to find a new acolyte. Before his arrival Ventress met with the nearby Nightbrothers and after a bloody tournament selected Savage Opress. Opress, a brother of Darth Maul, was transformed by the Nightsister's magic and presented to Dooku as a new assassin. In the end Opress betrayed both the Count and the Nightsisters and fled to to Outer R The Battle of Dathomir occurred during the Clone Wars on the planet Dathomir. The Confederacy of Independent Systems launched an invasion that resulted in the annihilation of the Nightsisters; all of the Dathomir witches were killed, save for Mother Talzin and Asajj Ventress. The assault was led by General Grievous on the orders of Count Dooku. The Battle of Dathomir was an event set up by Siron with the help of Eliana and several double agents. Siron desired to exterminate all Force users and set his eyes on the Dathomiri witches. As a test for Eliana, he had her work to spin stories that a revolt was happening on the planet between the Dark Side Nightsisters and the Light Side clan witches.
