20 Vendemiaire (No Napoleon)
rdfs:comment
The coup of 20 Vendemiaire (often simply 20 Vendemiaire or Vendemiaire) was the coup d'état by several Parisian citizens, including the first and second presidents, Emmanuel Sieyès and Louis Desaix. The coup successfully overthrew the autocratic French Directory in order to replace it with a democratic presidential system, much like that of the United States. It occurred on 10 December, 1800, which was 20 Vendemiaire, Year IX under the now-defunct French Republican Calendar.
