Brian Trueman

Brian Trueman was heard as the voice of a Radio Announcer in Coronation Street in January 1964. A former actor, he was on the Granada Television staff at the time of his appearance, presenting both regional programmes and later national ones such as Cinema. He later branched out into both writing and sometimes doing the voice work for a series of popular children's programmes from the Cosgrove-Hall production company based in Manchester (and formed by two ex-Granada staff) such as Chorlton and the Wheelies, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Cockleshell Bay, The Wind in the Willows, Dangermouse and Count Duckula. However, Brian also briefly presented the BBC's children's film quiz Screen Test, taking over from original host Michael Rodd between 1979 and 1983.
