Golden Age 003: The True Strength of the High Schoolers
rdfs:comment
The matches between the middle schoolers and high schoolers continue, with the middle schoolers easily dismissing their opponents. Ootori caught spare balls and gives two of them to Hirari and Tenjin, allowing them to stay in the camp. The matches are then interrupted by a group of three high schoolers. A 3rd year from the upper courts, Oni Jūjirō, orders everyone who hasn't been able to obtain a ball to leave and they comply.

The second member of the group, Irie Kanata from 3rd court, explains that unofficial matches like these are generally not allowed in this camp. Instead all the camp members belong to one of 16 courts - the strongest players are on 1st court whereas the weakest are on 16th court. In order to move up the ranks, players have to win the so-called shuffle matches that are held every morning before regular practice starts. After hearing this explanation, Kirihara challenges the final member of the group, 1st court's Tokugawa Kazuya, to a match, but is met with an intimidating glare. Kirihara feels like he can't move, he later compares Tokugawa's glare with Yukimura's. The three high schoolers are about to leave when Oni bumps into Akutsu. Akutsu is aggressive and neither side wants to back down, but Kawamura and Momoshiro keep Akutsu in check and tell him to wait for the shuffle matches. Some of the camp facilities are shown. On the next morning, the middle schoolers check the schedule for the shuffle matches. Only one of them has been chosen, but he has to face a powerful opponent - next chapter: Momoshiro vs Oni.
