DiGiTs is a four piece punk band from Fullerton, California that formed in late 2003 under the moniker, Neon DiGiTs (after a Le Shok song of the same name). The initial line-up consisted of singer and bassist, Joshua "Felipe" Gutierrez (formerly of R.F.Y.), lead guitarist Jose Basillyo, drummer Samuel Gutierrez and keyboardist and singer Fatima Alshaiker. The band played for a short time before dropping the "Neon" and becoming known as only "DiGiTs". In mid-2004, Fatima Alshaiker|Fatima left the band. Shortly after that, Miguel joined as the band's bassist and Felipe moved to guitar and singer, which drastically changed the band's sound by pushing it into more surf inspired music, rather than the gritty Le Shok-type sound they had previously. Then, in late-2004, Sammy left the band and was replaced by fellow local musician (of Neon Lipstick, Nelson Rodriguez. DiGiTs were featured in OC Weekly in December, 2007 and played a live, on-air set on the ZM Radio program (now Extra Large Saturdays) on KUCI in late 2006.DiGiTs has influenced the start of many other bands in the area. Felipe started Ex Ex as a side project to DiGiTs and he joined A.M. in mid-2007, but left the band in January, 2008. Jose is a founding member of National Dear Park and a current member of Dirt Dress, Miguel began My Pet Saddle as a side project to DiGiTs in Spring of 2005 and Nelson was a founding member of Neon Lipstick and The Zookeepers.
