Vanguard II is a Shoot 'em Up released in 1984 by SNK, and the sequel to Vanguard. The game features improved graphics and sound over it's predecessor. Gameplay have changed from the original game. The player controls a ship and can move it in all directions, similar to Bosconian and the earlier Thunder Force titles. One button is used for a frontal shot while the second button is used to drop bombs on ground targets, controlled by a crosshair above the ship like in Xevious.
