Capitol Capitol
rdfs:comment
The Capitol building is located in a planet's capital city, often in the center of town. The structure holds little use, other than providing a location for NPC's. Politician trainers are only located at the Capitol buildings, so they are important for players running a player city. When the series premiered, it was the first soap opera that CBS had premiered in nine years (at that time, Love of Life had just ended its run) and had premiered as a one hour special on March 23rd (following CBS's popular series, Dallas), which introduced the world of the Cleggs and McCandlesses. Capitol replaced the venerable Search for Tomorrow on the CBS schedule (when Search moved to NBC) and in 1987 it was replaced itself by Bold and Beautiful, which is still running to this day. Location: Capitol Opponent: Cerebulon (Boss) Enviornmental / Special Attacks: 1. * Electricity field behind crashed UFO. 2. * The large monument that Cerebulon smashes through in Adventure mode is present in other modes, with a special powerup at the very top. Strangely enough no characters are able to climb it. It took Magmo fifteen heavy hits to bring it down. However, Those who can fly such as Raptros & Preytor can fly up to get the powerup. 3. * There is only one fuel tanker, parked to the left in front of the Capitol. See Map Notes for further info. The ship is being run by a mad scientist named Adolf Kemper. Probe escapes, thwarts various attempts to kill him, disintegrates Kemper with his own weapon, and destroys the submersible.. It is not built in the tradition sense, it can only be formed by populating a Town Center with ten citizens. It can be populated with a further fifty. It boosts the morale of friendly units according to the number of houses nearby. The Capitol building is available in Age of Empires III only when the player reaches the Imperial Age. It is the source of a numb er of very powerful improvements meant to make the side that can afford them so powerful that they can end an otherwise stalemated game. A Capitol is the building where a legislature meets. Many people confuse the word Capitol with Capital. Capital is a type of asset, or an upper case letter, or the city where Government is located. None of this may matter for long anyway. So many Capitalists are investing so much capital to influence the doings in the Capitol, that it wouldn't surprise me to hear something like this a few years from now; "Live from the Capital1 Capitol in Koch City, Fox News is proud to present Ted Nugent's State of the Union Address" Location: Capitol Opponent: Cerebulon (Boss) Enviornmental / Special Attacks: 1. Destruction of Capitol will yield between 30,000-50,000 Battle Tokens. Your only battle here will be the final boss and toughest opponent, Cerebulon. Visit here for strategy information. Probe is on loan to the US, investigating the disappearance of military aircraft in an area of the Caribbean known as The Devil's Triangle. When his plane is brought down by a strange submersible designed to look like the Capitol building in Washington, his body is pulled from the water and taken aboard the submersible for examination. When the series premiered, it was the first soap opera that CBS had premiered in nine years (at that time, Love of Life had just ended its run) and had premiered as a one hour special on March 23rd (following CBS's popular series, Dallas), which introduced the world of the Cleggs and McCandlesses. The two main matriarchs were Myrna Clegg (played originally by Carolyn Jones, then later on by Marla Adams and then by Marj Dusay) and Clarissa McCandless (played by GH's Constance Towers). Myrna and Clarissa were former best friends whose friendship sundered when Clarissa married the man Myrna wanted to marry, Baxter McCandless (later played by Ron Harper). In retaliation, Myrna spread some lies about Clarissa's father, Judson Tyler (Rory Calhoun) being a communist during the McCarthy Era, which effectively ruined his political career. The two women had been enemies ever since. The wicked and vindictive Myrna had four children, Samuel Clegg III, nicknamed Trey (actually her stepson from her husband by his first marriage); Julie, Jordy and Brenda. All four of the Clegg children were nothing at all like their mother. She was married to Sam Clegg, a high echleon Political Bigwig. Meanwhile, the kind-hearted Clarissa had four sons, Wally, a college student who was also a gambling addict; Tyler, an air force hero who was in love with (and eventually married) Julie Clegg; Matt, a handsome college athlete and Thomas, a doctor who had been crippled with polio. She had also taken care of her niece, Gillian. Also in the series were the Denning family, consisting of Senator Mark Denning, his agoraphobic wife, Paula, and their daughter, Sloane, a television reporter who was torn between the wealthy Trey and the more heroic Tyler. Mark had been in love with Clarissa, until it was revealed that Jarrett Morgan (Ron Harper) was revealed to be Clarissa's supposedly dead husband, Baxter McCandless. Later on, to Myrna's discomfort, Sam's first wife, Laureen, the mother of Trey, came along and was more than willing to cause her own share of trouble. Several famous names were a part of the series over the years, Jess Walton; Ed Nelson; Rory Calhoun; Carolyn Jones; Marj Dusay; Janis Paige; Tonja Walker; Kimberly Beck; Catherine Hickland; Constance Towers; Marla Adams; and Debrah Farentino are some of them. Most notably, Lana Wood played Fran Burke; Lola Falana played Charity Blake; and country singer Tammy Wynette played Darlene Stankowski. Capitol replaced the venerable Search for Tomorrow on the CBS schedule (when Search moved to NBC) and in 1987 it was replaced itself by Bold and Beautiful, which is still running to this day. The Capitol building is available in Age of Empires III only when the player reaches the Imperial Age. It is the source of a numb er of very powerful improvements meant to make the side that can afford them so powerful that they can end an otherwise stalemated game. Each improvement featured in this building provides a distinct purpose in each area of the game. Some of the most important technologies available in the game are exclusive only in this building so it is advised to utilize it whenever you can. Some of these technologies are meant to improve the economic condition of a civilization. The Capitol building is located in a planet's capital city, often in the center of town. The structure holds little use, other than providing a location for NPC's. Politician trainers are only located at the Capitol buildings, so they are important for players running a player city. On the continent of Wild Endeavour, in the mountains of Solace and Solitude stood the Capitol of the Time Lords. It was surrounded by a protective transparent sphere. (TV: The Sound of Drums) It rested on a large, vertical beam, with a wheel-like structure securing it. (TV: The Name of the Doctor, The Day of the Doctor) The Panopticon was the main room of the Capitol, where the Eye of Harmony was secretly kept far below. (TV: The Deadly Assassin) The High Council met in the Capitol. There was a transmat system that linked the Council's room to the Death Zone. (TV: The Five Doctors) Also on Gallifrey was the Time Lord Academy. (TV: The Sound of Drums) The Vaults were located underneath the Capitol. (AUDIO: Lies) The Vaults contained the ruins of the original Capitol, a graveyard for TARDISes (PROSE: Engines of War) and the Cloisters, which housed the Matrix and Cloister Bells. (TV: Hell Bent) Surrounding the Vaults were ducts and serviceways dating from the Old Time. (TV: The Deadly Assassin) By the time of the Doctor, they were used by those who worshipped shrines dedicated to the cult of "Rassilon the Vampire". (PROSE: Goth Opera) There was a repair shop in the Capitol, among the items there were TARDISes. Two technicians, Andro and Fabian, were working there when the First Doctor, with his granddaughter, stole a faulty Type 40 TARDIS. (TV: The Name of the Doctor) By the Last Great Time War, the Capitol had expansive but minimalist spaces with metal walkways, a darkened conference room, and a huge council chamber with Time Lords standing on suspended platforms. By the final day of the War, the Citadel was severely damaged by Dalek Saucers. The crashed saucers remained on the surface next to the Citadel. (TV: The End of Time) Following the Fall of Arcadia, the Capitol became at risk with Dalek forces converging towards it. This danger was detected in the War Room of the Capitol, where the General drew up stratagems with his associates. The Time Vaults contained the Omega Arsenal, where, on the final day of the War, the Moment was stolen from by the War Doctor. (TV: The Day of the Doctor) After the end of the war, the Capitol was repaired. (TV: Heaven Sent) The Capitol is the monumental building in which the Lovia Congress debates and works. It is located in the heart of Noble City: Downtown. It's a very popular tourist attraction as well, ranked first in Lovia.
