Skiff Skiff
rdfs:comment
Skiff is a Dwarf sailor who aided the Torchbearer with his companion Sprig. Skiff is the native language of Skifander. It is distinct from the common language of Europa and incomprehensible to run-of-the-mill Europans. Very few words of the tongue of Skifander have been [ uttered] [[Chronology - Volume #|✣ ]]. The only characters in Europa known to speak Skiff are Zeetha and Baron Klaus Wulfenbach, speculation extends to Gil having some knowledge of the language but no evidence has been seen. Skiff was a term which could be used to describe a number of different types of vehicle, including both starships and atmospheric vehicles. The Hutt crime lord Jabba owned several skiffs, which he used to transport prisoners to the Great Pit of Carkoon. The Skiff is an exhumer with exceptional defensive capabilities. Skiff was given wheels after Thomas had his accident and discovered Captain Calles' Pirate Ship. He helped Sailor John and Thomas look for the treasure, thinking Sailor John would give it to the museum. When he found out that John in fact intended to keep the treasure for himself, Skiff tried to stop Sailor John, but could not do much. He saved Thomas from having dynamite thrown at him by shaking Sailor John and later purposely capsized to stop Sailor John getting away with the treasure. After Sailor John was arrested, Skiff was recovered, repainted into a white-and-blue livery, sold to Captain Joe, and started giving "Railboat Tours" around Arlesburgh Harbour. Skiffs fire Arc cannons at players if they get too close. These Arc cannons can be destroyed if they sustain enough damage. It also features side vents that deploy bouncing mines. In modular synthesizers, a skiff is a small enclosure meant to accommodate usually 4 to 8 modules, perhaps with some storage space for patch cords. The skiff is intended to be small, portable, and lightweight. This is to facilitate taking the synth to live gigs, busking, and spur-of-the-moment performances. Many skiffs have limits on the depth of the modules they will accommodate, and the performer should take this into account when purchasing or planning the layout of a skiff. A new product and not very wide spread yet. A skiff was a small open boat. Skiffs appeared for the first time in Ultima V, where the Avatar could either purchase one from a shipwright, or have it included with a frigate. They were necessary to reach the shallow waters that the larger frigates couldn't. In Ultima VI, skiffs gained the ability travel over all water surfaces, and no could longer dock with frigates. However, a strong companion now was able to carry the skiff to also safely pass underwater rivers. After that time, skiffs no longer were usable, and the ones encountered were either static (as in Ultima VIII) or part of a ferry system (as seen in Ultima IX). The Skiff is a ship built and used by rock hoppers. Skiff is a White Boatbased at the scrapyards who will appear in Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure. The survivors of Hunter Gratzner discovered it in a disrepair state. Its fabric wings were wind-torn, but the hull looked intact. It had no power cells to operate and they needed to trek back to the Hunter Gratzner crash site, to cannibalize the ship for parts. Upon escaping the planet, it was intercepted by the Kublai Khan, the Skiff was dragged on-board along with the passengers: Jack, Riddick and Imam Abu al-Walid. The skiff was soon after that ejected from Kublai Khan, and left to drift in space.

Several of the port towns along the shores of Britannia boast of craftsmen renowned for their dedication to the construction of safe, dependable sea vessels. Whether you need a small skiff to get upriver, or a mighty sailing vessel for open sea travel, the local shipwrights will be more than happy to discuss terms. It is wise to pay attention to information about local sea and wind conditions before setting out in a new craft. Small double-lock rowboats, used as lifeboats on frigates, skiffs can make their way through all but the shallowest mud or swamp. Widely used for exploration of riverheads and mountain streams, they are also occasionally found being put to more recreational uses in townes. They provide a charming way to follow the little estuaries that crisscross Britannia. In fact, there are said to be little-known places unreachable by any other means. However, skiffs are unsafe on deep ocean waters.

In the twentieth season, he and Captain Joe were checking the harbour to make sure everything was safe before a storm. While Joe was busy elsewhere, Skiff's sail came loose, his anchor rope snapped, and he was blown down the line into a fallen tree, where he derailed, came loose from his chassis, and got his sail trapped under a branch. Duck and Oliver were both approaching the tree from opposite directions, but Skiff just managed to free his sail and warn them of the danger, preventing a serious accident. The following morning, Sir Topham Hatt praised Skiff and said that he deserved an award for his heroic actions. Then everyone gave Skiff three cheers. Later on, Skiff overheard Sir Topham Hatt talking to the Museum Manager, and became convinced that a mermaid was coming to the harbour. The following morning, he was to take Sir Topham, Stephen, and Bridget Hatt on a tour. While Captain Joe was getting the children's lifejackets, Skiff saw something in the water that looked like a mermaid's tail, and took off after it with Sir Topham Hatt on board. The chase resulted in them getting marooned on the beach at Bluff's Cove, and Harold and Captain had to come and rescue them. Back at the harbour, Skiff learned that the "mermaid" was really a figurehead, which was to be attached to the Pirate Ship's bow as a decoration. Skiffs fire Arc cannons at players if they get too close. These Arc cannons can be destroyed if they sustain enough damage. It also features side vents that deploy bouncing mines. Skiff is a White Boatbased at the scrapyards who will appear in Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure. A skiff was a small open boat. Skiff was a term which could be used to describe a number of different types of vehicle, including both starships and atmospheric vehicles. The Hutt crime lord Jabba owned several skiffs, which he used to transport prisoners to the Great Pit of Carkoon. The Skiff is a ship built and used by rock hoppers. A new product and not very wide spread yet.
