Mythic Europe
rdfs:comment
Mythic Europe is the medieval, fantastical setting of the Ars Magica roleplaying game. Mythic Europe is in many ways the forebear of the World of Darkness, especially the Dark Medieval world of the Dark Ages setting that was introduced in Vampire: The Dark Ages. For more information on Mythic Europe as it appears in Ars Magica, see Mythic Europe, the dedicated Ars Magica fan wikia, or Mythic Europe at redcap.org. This Ars Magica-related article is a stub. You can help WWWiki by fixing it. Mythic Europe is a fantasy version of Europe in the Middle Ages, as described in Ars Magica and its suppliments. The Ars Magica Wiki is intended to be a useful and somewhat comprehensive overview of both the (semi-)historical and Hermetic environments. For the purpose of this Wiki, the period of Mythic Europe begins with the Founding of the Order of Hermes in 767, and ends with the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus in 1473.

The term "Mythic Europe" does appear (sparingly) in early Mage: The Ascension sourcebooks; there, the term is often used interchangeably with the Mythic Age of high magic that existed before the Consensus took sway over the world. The Dark Fantastic era of Mage: The Sorcerers Crusade builds on the foundations of Mythic Europe, but by that point in time, the Mythic Age was no more.
