The Cetus is a legendary creature that appears in Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. The Cetus is used by the party to travel across the ocean during the final stages of the game. The city of Liberte is built atop of the Cetus and could be controlled by the people through the panel located in Liberte's town hall, provided if they had the Rusty Compass. The Cetus was forced into an eternal slumber after Leviathan's minions forced Captain Drake to steal Rusty Compass from Liberte. During the beginning of the game the inside of the Cetus could still be entered, but only at night when a whirlpool had appeared between Liberte and Liberte Port. When the party first enters the inside of the Cetus, it is simply known as ???. When the player obtains the Cetus at the end of the game, they can use it to go into hidden areas on the world map and travel into deeper areas of the ocean.
