Differential Gear
rdfs:comment
The Differential Gear was a large mechanical construct built by Babbage to defend the gear room of the Revolving Bridge by way of using its long blades in its front legs to attack. The Differential Gear, contrary to the "horse" that it is obviously modeled to be, does not walk, but rather, moves about by using wheels located in each of the four legs. When it moves in to attack, a large gear connected to its tail is dropped so the front legs lift up, and the blades come out to utilize a formidable slicing attack.

After the Godwin forces used the bridge as a means of invasion, Babbage knew that nobody admired his work as a piece of his genius anymore, and viewed it only as a simple bridge. When asked by the Loyalist Army to help shut the bridge down, he was more than happy to assist. Babbage, Sorensen and Lu came along to help the Prince battle the Differential Gear and get to the gear room. Sorensen and Lu admired the Differential Gear at first, but their original awe was replaced by a different kind of awe once they realized that the construct was there to prevent entry. It hurt Babbage a little bit inside to see his creation demolished for just this reason, but it seemed like the situation could not be avoided. Once past the Differential Gear, Babbage simply removed one gear from the machinery and the bridge was disabled.
