In the Dynamic version this stage regularly alternates from the standard stage form to one of two alternate stages and then back again. While the players are within one of the alternate stages, the Brave Pool rises gradually. The World of Darkness (or WoD) is the name given to three related but distinct fictional universes. The first was conceived by Mark Rein-Hagen, while the second was designed by several people at White Wolf Gaming Studio, which Rein-Hagen helped to found. The first two World of Darkness settings have been used for several horror fiction-themed role-playing games that make use of the Storytelling System. The third, Monte Cook's World of Darkness, includes only a single product. World of Darkness is a Fan Fiction Story made by me, Xion622. It follows the story of Kapura, Macku, and Planohk, as Teridax reigns over the universe. The World of Darkness is the umbrella term used to describe the universe in which the various White Wolf role-playing games are set. It is broadly similar to the real world as we know it, but tends to be gloomier, more full of pain and suffering, and less full of life and hope. GarouMUSH references the old World of Darkness (sometimes abbreviated as "oWoD") setting, as opposed to the newer version presented in more recently released White Wolf games. Yusuke Fujiwara attempted to summon Nightshroud in the Abandoned Dorm. This opened a portal to the World of Darkness, pulling him into it and infecting the dorm with dark powers. Oddly, this resulted in the dorm gaining the ability to pull people into the other World of Darkness. According to Nightshroud, the World of Darkness existed before life on Earth, and is the polar opposite of life, although it is not death. It will exist as long as darkness exists in the hearts of people, causing Nightshroud to manifest once again in the real world. People are brought into the World of Darkness when they succumb to the darkness in their hearts, which takes on replete forms. For example, Tyranno Hassleberry would assume the life of the dinosaur whose bone is in his leg which was that of a predator. He would then fall prey and be agonized by the dinosaurs he loves. On the other hand, Syrus Truesdale would have to Duel to gain his brother Zane's happiness until the day Zane dies. During the fourth season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Trueman and Nightshroud pull several people, including Sartorius, Sarina, Axel Brodie, Tyranno Hassleberry, Taigo Sorano, the many residents of Domino City, all the students at Duel Academy (save Jaden Yuki), and eventually the whole world, into the World of Darkness. However, Jaden is able to get all of the victims to focus on their dearest memories, and the bonds with their cards, allowing them to escape. After Jaden defeats Nightshroud, the latter and the World of Darkness are both destroyed. Please select a subheading for a list of contributions. The World of Darkness is an alternate world in Dragon Quest VIII that the party must take a detour to in the search for Evil Sir Leopold. It is also Rhapthorne's goal to combine the World of Light and the World of Darkness. When in Empycchu, the party hear about the Dark Eye, a portal to the World of Darkness, that sometimes appears in Empyrea's shadow. The party then proceed to chase the shadow from Empyrea's usual roost to a small hill past a couple of poison swamps, where the shadow transforms into the Dark Eye. The World of Darkness is not much different from the World of Light, the landscape is basically the same, but the world is in black-and-white, except, interestingly, water, fire, poison, treasure chests, items and anything from the World of Light. There are also dark versions of normal monsters, many of which are stronger than their World of Light counterparts. The Hero is free to explore the island, but is limited to the Isolated Plateau because his ship is in the World of Light, and can only Zoom to Dark Empycchu. After visiting Dark Empycchu, the party finds out Empyrea has been damaging the village, so they go to her roost to find out what's going on, but they end up fighting her instead. After the battle, she explains Gemon, Rhapthorne's right-hand monster, is forcing her to attack Dark Empycchu or he will harm her egg. She asks the Hero to climb the Godbird's Eyrie, where Gemon is holding her egg hostage, and fight him. After Gemon is defeated, he casts Kamikazee and takes the egg out with him. However, the spirit of the child inside the egg is then contained inside a stone called the Godbird's soulstone, which grants the party the ability to turn into a bird and fly, but only in the World of Light. Empyrea entrusts the Hero with this stone, and then the party return to the World of Light. They are set in a fantastic version of the modern world that is inhabited by vampires, werewolves, mages, and so on, all of whom prey on or interact with fairly oblivious humans. New World of Darkness was a revamp of the original, incorporating a new rules system and tone: specifically avoiding the previous gothic feel for a more traditional form of horror. More specifically, the new version has the supernatural as less omnipotent and the setting as more unified, both for game balance and flavor reasons.
