Voldar
rdfs:comment
Voldar was the goddess of the Gradi. A powerful, strict, and aggressive deity, she demanded absolute obedience from her worshipers, with the effect that few of them were capable of much initiative or creativity. Unlike Dyaus, the king of the Elabonian gods, Voldar was very involved in human affairs and pushed her people to expand their empire, and thus the lands in which she was worshiped. She helped them invade Gerin the Fox's principality in the Northlands, but was stalemated when a number of Northland deities challenged her in her realm. This left her unable to help her army, which, unused to fighting without heavy divine assistance, was defeated by Gerin's. When Kimar and Momar, rulers of Mars, decided to bring Santa Claus to Mars for their children, Voldar was the leader of the company sent to kidnap him. He was successful, but Voldar was not happy with the plan. He believed that toys would make Martian children weak, and he wished to kill or discredit Santa Claus before he could corrupt the war-like ethos of Martian society. Voldar was a strong warrior, equipped with Martian weapons technology and he was assisted by his men, Stobo and Shim.
