The Staff of Gandalf the White is an unfinished, large, ranged weapon that cannot be obtained via survival. It will probably be obtainable through questing, once that's added, at which point the functionality of the staff will be expanded. For now, it is only available through the creative mode menu. The melee attack does +8 attack damage, which is stronger than a diamond sword and the equivalent strength of a mithril spear. The range attack is activated by right-clicking and holding. It shoots out a blue orb that travels straight and deals damage to NPCs in an area around where it hits. NPCs in the near vicinity of the player will also be damaged by the ring of blue fire that spreads from the staff. The ranged attack may only damage "evil" NPCs, such as Orcs, Wargs, Dark Huorns, Dunlendings, Utumno, and Near Haradrim. It will not cause any damage to NPCs such as Hobbits, Dwarves, Rohirrim, Huorns, and Ents. It will also do damage to animals. Melee attacks, however, can hurt anything.
