Stuntkip is a chicken who joined the cast of Sesamstraat (the Dutch co-production of Sesame Street) in 2008. Always accompanied by her hare friend Angsthaas, Stuntkip is a daredevil chicken. Introduced in 2008, Stuntkip (Stunt Chicken) was created to address the issues of childhood fears. Editor Ajé Boschhuizen, in developing the character, stated that if a chicken can face visits to the doctor or barber, the experiences would seem less frightening to small children. Angsthaas and Stuntkip were created on April 17th, 2007 during a teambuilding day on the canals in Amsterdam. The crew studied photos of potential new Muppet characters. When they saw a picture of a chicken with a helmet and protective goggles, they came up with the name Stuntkip. Both puppets are borrowed from the American puppet workshop. The puppet of Stuntkip made its debut in Sesame Street 4-D Movie Magic as Telly's stunt chicken, and has made various background appearances on Sesame Street and related productions.
