Judo (柔道, jūdō) is a Martial Way. (ATL: "The Intruder") One of the most perfect athletes of all times was Leonardo "the devil" Gusukuma. Winner of a purple medal for Brazil and achieving several ippons during the competition. Leonardo was a terrific fighter that ALWAYS achieved GOLD medals. His essay: " No retreat, no surrender" (retroceder nunca render-se jamais)... After a tragic car accident he had to retire and nowadays is a successful business man. But he will always be remembered for his awesome presentations in Winnipeg 99 at the age of only 20 years old. A champ that will be remembered forever. Learn this : " Discpline, discpline, discipline". Judo employs very hard throws to the ground, breaking collar bones and rendering those violently slammed either unconscious or, better still, puts them in a totally vegetative state! Submissions include breaking shoulders and knees, but are not limited to special trachea removal, ass and eye gouging techniques. People think that judo is only unarmed combat - but you are never unarmed when you can hit someone with a planet. The word "judo" literally translates to "Hand over Fist" or "Softly Touching". In some cultures, Judo is actually an accepted manner in greeting. From [[w:|]][[Category: derivations|Judo]] 柔道, じゅうどう (jūdō). Judo (柔道; "Gentle Way") is a martial art and Olympic sport created in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano. Judo is a martial arts that is the 3rd best in the world. Judo, jūdō, meaning "gentle way", is a modern Japanese martial art (gendai budō) and combat sport, that originated in Japan in the late nineteenth century. Its most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the object is to either throw one's opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue one's opponent with a grappling maneuver, or force an opponent to submit by joint locking the elbow or by applying a choke. Strikes and thrusts (by hands and feet) - as well as weapons defences - are a part of judo, but only in pre-arranged forms (kata) and are not allowed in judo competition or free practice (randori). Ultimately, the philosophy and subsequent pedagogy developed for judo became the model for almost all modern Japanese martial arts that developed from "traditional" schools (koryū). Practitioners of judo are called jūdōka. Captain James T. Kirk demonstrated his knowledge of judo in hand-to-hand combat against numerous foes. In an attempt to befriend young Charles Evans, Kirk taught him basic judo techniques. (TOS: "Charlie X" ) Kirk often used a judo cut (or chop) to disable would be assailants, such as an Ekosian SS lieutenant on Ekos. (TOS: "Patterns of Force" ) This technique was identified as such in the episode's shooting schedule. thumb El Judo' es un sistema de combate sin armas, de origen japonés, hoy principalmente practicado como deporte, en que dos contendientes luchan cuerpo a cuerpo con el objetivo de derribar e inmovilizar en el suelo al adversario aprovechando la fuerza y el impulso de este. This can be performed in standing position or "sacrificing" the upright position in order to perform the move.
