Tuscalora were a Tsurani family with estates in Szetac. Their lands bordered the Acoma holdings to the south. They also had a small strip of land between the Acoma northern and southern needra fields, cut down the middle by the dry stream bed. There had been no ties of business between the two Ruling Lords. Because of a freak concentration of minerals in their soil, they were blessed with the most outstanding plantation of chocha-la.

During the Riftwar, the Lord was Jidu who had a violent argument with Mara of the Acoma. Because of a bet, Jidu was forced to offer Mara the strip of land, paying thus tolls each time he had to pass his goods from the stream.
