All Terrain Tactical Enforcer All Terrain Tactical Enforcer All Terrain Tactical Enforcer
rdfs:comment
All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) (suom. An intimidating armored assault vehicle, the All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) saw its explosive debut on the battlefields of Geonosis, at the start of the Clone Wars. Specialized Republic drop ships carried the lumbering walker craft into the thick of combat, unleashing them to crawl inexorably toward enemy fortifications. The base AT-TE design was originally built to help mining companies maintain order on far-flung worlds, but the design was extensively revised for combat applications. An AT-TE was impervious to ion damage due to built-in electromagnetic shielding. Its average speed was 60 kph (37.2 mph). This plodding pace allowed it to penetrate energy shields, a feat that was impossible for repulsorlift craft. Effective in numerous terrains and environments, the walker was even capable of scaling vertical cliffs as the later UT-AT transport was. An AT-TE contained enough fuel to stride at full speed for over 500 kilometers and possessed enough scrubbed air and military rations to last its crew for three weeks out in the harsh conditions of the battlefield. The AT-TE in Star Wars: Battlefront and its sequel is a heavy ground vehicle, also used as a mobile command post that Republic troops would spawn from. It appears on Geonosis,Rhen Var (first game only) and in the campaign mission on Felucia, where the 501st clones have to protect downed AT-TE for a set period of time, retrieve a power cell and use it for repairs. The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer was a giant walking metal beetle with a top speed of slightly less than -2.23 mph. It was used in the Battle of Geonosis. File:Wiki.pngThis article is a stub. You can help Darthipedia by expanding it. If you don't, we'll destroy your planet. The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE), also referred to as a tank by clone troopers, was a multipurpose military ground walker used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. They boasted six legs that could be magnetized, six laser cannon turrets located along the body of the walker, and a heavy projectile mass-driver cannon on top.

Its crew consisted of two people three (in sequel): the pilot controlled the vehicle and operated green anti-infantry particle cannon and quad guns at the front, another person sat in the exposed heavy turret at the top and the final crewmember controlled two repeating blasters at the back. The pilot's dual particle cannon is slow to fire but also very powerful against vehicles and has small AoE, while the quad guns fire a slow-moving stream of weak projectiles and don't really do much damage before overheating. The top turret is another particle cannon: it can attack enemies from any direction, but the gunner is exposed and can be sniped from his position. The rear turret in the sequel is quite effective against infantry but has limited arc of fire. Like the AT-AT, it cannot be sliced into and any attempt to do so would only repair the vehicle. The Assault Droid's mines are the most effective way to kill it, with three being enough to obliterate it: unless you have turned the FF off, place them a little ahead of it and run to avoid getting caught in the blast. His missile launcher is also quite effective if stand beneath it and target the cylinder at the bottom, which is its weak spot (it is also the easiest way to earn Demolition Achievement). The walker features six articulated legs for propulsion. The legs are low to the ground, which reduces the walker's top speed but does provide it with increased stability. The body of the walker consists of two armored halves connected by a flexible sleeve that increases its mobility on the field. The six legs of the AT-TE move the low-built vehicle at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. Contained within its armored hull are 20 clone troopers ready to disembark for combat at a moment's notice. It requires a crew of one pilot, one spotter, and four gunners or support crewmen. An additional exterior gunner controls the projectile cannon. The front of the walker is lined with four ball-turret laser cannons, while a single heavy projectile cannon is turret-mounted on the vehicle's dorsal surface. Its rear fire arc is protected by a pair of laser cannon turrets. Though the walker's armor can easily deflect small arms fire, tanksmasher rockets can pierce an AT-TE's armor and destroy its complex propulsion mechanisms. The walker's plodding pace allows it to penetrate energy shields, which are effective at deflecting the high-velocity repulsorlift systems of flying or hovering craft. The AT-TE's armor is supplemented by electromagnetic shielding that protects the walker from ion cannon or EMP attacks. The walker, like the rest of the clone army's heavy armor, was developed in secret at Rothana Heavy Engineering, a clandestine subsidiary of Kuat Drive Yards. Seven specially-trained crew members were needed in order for the vehicle to function propely. The pilot worked the six legs of the walker, while a spotter utilized several sensor stations to ascertain the locations of hostile units and primary objectives. The spotter then had to relay this information to the four gunners nestled at gun stations within the heavily-armored hull of the walker. A final crew member had to sit behind the controls of the rail gun atop the AT-TE, completely exposed to enemy fire. Ten clone trooper passengers could be held in each section of the walker (20 total). In addition, an IM-6 medical droid was located in the back of the AT-TE for emergency medical treatment. The most noticeable weapon was the enormous rail gun mounted on the top of the craft. This cannon could be loaded with an array of loadouts, depending on the specifications of the mission. The payloads of the gun could range from burrowing bunker busters to heat-seeking missiles to sonic charges. However, it had a slow rate of fire and questionable accuracy. Six smaller laser cannons were strategically placed along the vehicle. Four were located in a square pattern around the cockpit, while two more were placed in the rear to cover the flanks and help secure dropoff points for the platoons contained within. These troopers were essential to the survival of the AT-TE when the walker came under fire from enemy infantry units that were too small to be accurately targeted by the main cannons. However, the AT-TE was not invulnerable. A single, well-placed rocket from a Hailfire droid was enough to destroy it, and it was also highly vulnerable to air attacks. One of its design flaws was that it was low to the ground, so the turret gunner's protection of the vulnerable underside was limited. The low ground clearance of this vehicle also made it susceptible to mines exploding beneath the walker. This flaw was eliminated in the newer AT-AT. Special sockets for the AT-TE were created onboard Acclamator-class assault ships. While any Republic spacecraft could transport these walkers through space, a variant of the LAAT/i gunship, the LAAT/c, had to be used to ferry these vehicles down to battlefields.
