East India Trading Company fue una organización británica que se dedicaba a realizar comercios con las Indias u otros paises occidentales durante el siglo XVII. [[Archivo:East India House THS 1817 edited.PNG||250px|thumb|Sede de la empresa en Londres.]] The East India Trading Company is the main antagonistic force of the second and third movies of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. Created by English merchants during the 17th century with the purpose of regulating the trade in the East Indies, it soon grew in power and influence, eventually being appointed by the king of Great Britain as their official trading company. Later on, Cutler Beckett joined their numbers, climbing in their ranks and becoming their supreme leader, receiving the title of Lord Cutler Beckett from the king. The East India Trading Company, otherwise referred to as the East India Company or abbreviated as EITC, was a joint-stock company and megacorporation formed for pursuing and monopolizing trade with the East Indies and the Caribbean. The East India Company traded mainly in cotton, silk, indigo dye, salt, saltpetre, tea and opium. The Company was granted a Royal Charter by Queen Elizabeth I on December 31, 1600. Shares of the Company were owned by wealthy merchants and aristocrats. The government owned no shares and had only indirect control. The Company eventually came to rule large areas of India with its own private armies, exercising military power and assuming administrative functions. The East India Trading Company is a free-trade federation which manages trade between the East Indies, Africa, England, and the Caribbean. It has many branches, the most famous, of course, being the Caribbean Branch. The Caribbean Branch is currently out of commission, due to the formal removal (set forth by the King) of several of its leaders. The East India Trading Company's business is mostly centered on India, where it also acquired auxiliary governmental and military functions which have come to overshadow its commercial activities. In India, the Blue Coats protect the company. EITC ships go through the Caribbean as a rest stop and so they can reach their North American customers. Pirates have for a long time plundered EITC ships coming through the Caribbean as they are often easy to defeat and full of valuable commodities. With the importance of Caribbean customers and its position as a rest stop for many of the company's ships it has become necessary to employ more force where the Royal Navy "falters". To that end, Cutler Beckett has begun using controversial methods to control trade routes, incurring political resistance

East India Trading Company fue una organización británica que se dedicaba a realizar comercios con las Indias u otros paises occidentales durante el siglo XVII. [[Archivo:East India House THS 1817 edited.PNG||250px|thumb|Sede de la empresa en Londres.]] The East India Trading Company's business is mostly centered on India, where it also acquired auxiliary governmental and military functions which have come to overshadow its commercial activities. To that end, Cutler Beckett has begun using controversial methods to control trade routes, incurring political resistance from the residents of the Caribbean, and armed resistance from pirates who view the company as an authority figure threatening their freedom. The East India Trading Company is the main antagonistic force of the second and third movies of the Pirates of the Caribbean, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. Having acquired complete control over the trade in the East Indies, Cutler Beckett decides to expand their influence over all seas, setting his eyes into the Caribbean. However, he feared the piracy, deciding he had to eradicate it if he was to conquer the seas. For this goal, he wants to employ Jack Sparrow as a privateer in exchange for his compass, which he needed to retrieve the Dead Man's Chest and thus control Davy Jones to exterminate all pirates from the seas.
