Peak vulture
rdfs:comment
The peak vulture was a large, winged scavenger native to the planet Sphinx in the Manticore System. They had two pairs of wings and very powerful talons, and it is not uncommon for them to kill small game rather than relying solely on carrion. Some specimens could reach up to 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) in length and wingspans of up to 3.5 meters (11.5 feet). Peak vultures lived mostly in mountains areas, and were closely related to the much smaller lowland vulture. Treecats called them "death gleaners". (SK3)
