The first Holiday Item Contest was announced November 6 2007, the same date the Item Design Contest September 2k7 ended, and Gaians had two weeks to design a holiday-themed item, for Christmas or other holidays around the time. Gaia staff would choose a group of finalists and then the Gaian public would have the chance to vote for their favourite, the one with the most votes winning and being made into a real item, and the designer winning 500,000 Gold.
