The 1956-03 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) - Pacific Coast Late Model Series (now West Series) combination event held at Willow Springs Speedway on November 20, 1955. Even more intriguing, most of the sport's top drivers were at Charlotte Speedway for another race being held that day. That allowed Chuck Stevenson to lead 54 of the 80 laps and hold off Marvin Panch by 500 feet for Stevenson's lone victory. Eventual season champion Buck Baker was also in Charlotte, and therefore did not run the event. Stats
