A Sand pit allows a player to collect sand using an empty bucket. To get sand simply bring as many buckets as you want, and use each of them on the sand pit. The sand can then be used in Crafting glass. The Sand Pit is a Challenge mode exclusive to the Nintendo Switch port of Cave Story+. It is unlocked by obtaining the Fireball in Story Mode. It takes place in the titular Sand Pit, starting off in the Storeroom and going downwards into multiple B levels. .
