Byzantium (L'Uniona Homanus)
rdfs:comment
The Province of Byzantium used to be known as the Province of Thracia. Thracia was dominated by the city of Philippopolis (Plovdiv, Bulgaria). After the Revolutions of Emperors like Carolus, Ignacius, and Jacobus, the trade city of Byzantium dominated the access to Pontus Euxenos (Black Sea). Byzantium became the name of the Province, and the City of Byzantium was the new Capital. Philippopolis continued to exist, but it would not dominate the area of the Thracians.
