Following the end of the Successors War Krayt quickly realised that, although his rule was secure for the time being, the rule of his successor was not. So he returned the Sith to the age-old feudal system of control. One Dark Lord, many Sith Lords and Knights vying for power; but with one difference. The Rule of One was the name of a Sith doctrine developed by Darth Krayt and followed by the One Sith. Darth Krayt's doctrine, as followed by the One Sith focused, in stark contrast to the core tenets of the old Sith, on obedience rather than conflict and survival of the strongest, with many Sith following one leader and purpose. Following the end of the Successors War Krayt quickly realised that, although his rule was secure for the time being, the rule of his successor was not. So he returned the Sith to the age-old feudal system of control. One Dark Lord, many Sith Lords and Knights vying for power; but with one difference. If a Sith Lord or Knight attempted to usurp the throne without the full support of the Sith Council, they would become an enemy of the Sith and declared and outlaw. This ruling, although breached many times, secured the reigns of many Krayt's successors and secured peace and unity through out the galaxy. The Rule of One was not perfect however, and in many cases was used to unjustly accuse many. Darth Nihilus was one such individual, but it had little bearing on the outcome of events in that matter.
