CMS Warder was a Shearwater-class frigate in the Caspian Navy, and has the unfortunate distinction of being the first vessel destroyed by the Empire at the opening of the Imperial War of Aggression. She had been freshly assigned to the Third Fleet to replace CMS Audace on the line. She had all the makings of a fine warship, having breezed through her star trials just a month prior. Coming under the guns of the Star Destroyer HIMS Tyrant, the cruiser was torn apart by ion and turbolaser fire upon the opening of hostilities. The crew was at alert status, but having been directed by the Admiralty to show no overly aggressive posture, the defensive systems were at nominal levels and were no match for point-blank salvos from the immensely larger Imperial warship with no warning. All but ten from her crew of over six hundred perished.
