Octavo Planeta del Sistema Bajor, que tiene dos lunas, y seis colonias ocupadas por centenares de bajoranos. Prior to 2369, the Bajorans had established six colonies on this planet. By that year, the population on this planet was counted in the thousands. In 2369, Bajoran terrorist Tahna Los, aboard the runabout USS Yangtzee Kiang, rendezvoused with Lursa and B'Etor's Bird-of-Prey near the lower moon of Bajor VIII to receive a quantity of bilitrium explosive. The USS Ganges, monitoring the exchange from behind the second moon, attempted to intercept him, but Tahna threatened to detonate the bomb in low orbit and wipe out the colonies on the surface. The Ganges was forced to allow him to head towards the Bajoran wormhole. (DS9: "Past Prologue") "BAY-jor" was the pronunciation for this planet's name from the script pronunciation guide for "Emissary" . According to StarTrek.com, Bajor VIII was known as "Andros". [1] According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pages 42,46), Bajor VIII (Andros) was a K class planet with two moons. The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Narrator's Toolkit identifies Bajor VIII as an M-class planet. Bajor VIII, or Andros is the second M class planet in the Bajoran system; it is also the only class M planet of the five outer planets in the Bajoran system. The eighth planet in the system, it's the site of six Bajoran colonies, and had thousands of people living on the planet. (Last Unicorn RPG module: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Narrator's Toolkit) One of the moons of Bajor VIII was the site of a meeting between the Bajoran terrorist Tahna Los and the Klingons Lursa and B'Etor. The Klingon women provided Tahna with a bilitrium explosive which he intended to use to collapse the entrance to the Bajoran wormhole. Major Kira Nerys was able to stop Tahna from exploding the device near the wormhole, and the device was harmlessly detonated in the Gamma Quadrant. (DS9 episode: "Past Prologue") In 2371, a Cardassian scoutship crashed near Hesh-Sosoral on Andros while searching for bardianite deposits.
