Slurgs are probably the lowest in the food chain on Oddworld. They are more or less large blackish purple slugs, which live off of Fleech offal (waste parts of a Fleech's carcass, for example the entrails). Many can be found in Necrum. Slurgs tend to make a loud squelch and pop when trodden on, which in turn alerts any Fleeches in the vicinity to an intruder. This meant that Abe had to carefully avoid them on his journey through Necrum, so as to not fall victim to the Fleeches.
