Saugeen Township was located along the Lake Huron shoreline in northern Bruce County, surrounding the Towns of Port Elgin and Southampton. In 2001, Saugeen Township was amalgamated with Port Elgin and Saugeen Township to create the Municipality of Saugeen Shores. The Township Fire Department became part of the Saugeen Shores Fire Department. Shortly after amalgamation, the Township fire station was closed.
