Teemaa pidetään Life on Mars -teeman seuraajana vaikkakin teemojen aihealueet vaihtuivat. The humans are a group of astronauts that have journeyed to Mars in search of powerful yellow-green energy crystals found on the Martian surface. In the storyline, the humans are mining the crystals for a new source of energy, as Earth is experiencing an energy crisis. Unfortunately for the Astronauts, the Aliens are also seeking the crystals for themselves. The human structures consist of two colours: orange and white. They have the "Classic Space symbol". There were a range of Astronaut members in the Mars Mission theme; according to LEGO Battles, the Astronauts were led by the Astro Commander, a leader of the Astronauts in the game who appeared during cutscenes. The expedition was then followed by two commandos named Biff and Gemma. The Mars Mission was a mission taken to Mars by the LEGO Space Program in 2007. It was the second mission to Mars follow Operation Life on Mars in 2001. However, when the astronauts, named the Astros, arrived, they found most of the friendly Martians that were met in 2001 killed and the Red Planet under control of a deadly hive of Crystaliens that had destroyed the Martians in order to mine special Energy Crystals. The Astros fought and eventually defeated the Crystaliens, forcing them off the planet.

Mars Mission ist ein Themenbereich von Lego was es ab 2007 gab (in den USA seit 12/2007, in Europa seit 01/2008). 2008 gab weitere neuere Sets. Die Themenwelt gab es bis 2009. Mars Mission is a LEGO theme appearing only in MLN as two Stickers, Alien Mothership Sticker and Recon Dropship Sticker The humans are a group of astronauts that have journeyed to Mars in search of powerful yellow-green energy crystals found on the Martian surface. Teemaa pidetään Life on Mars -teeman seuraajana vaikkakin teemojen aihealueet vaihtuivat. Later in 2009, the Second Mars Mission was launched to check up on Martians following the Crystalien Crisis. Shortly after arriving, the Crystaliens returned to the planet accidently. This time, the Crystaliens were allied with second in command of the Black Hole Gang. However, with the arrival of a Space Police base on the planet quickly led to Kranxx and the Crystalien's defeat.
