Pick Axe Pick axe
rdfs:comment
The pick axe is an item that is needed to mine in certain areas of Knightmare. This is a needed tool to use for mining. Pick axes are one of the basic types of weapon in ADOM. They have default stats of (+0, 1d6+1), though these do vary from time to time. They can be used to mine walls. Since v. 1.2.0 pre7 , pick axes act as slaying weapons (always scoring critical hits) against greater earth elementals, stone grues, stone statues, stone golems, stone snakes, wall beasts, living walls, and the Ancient Stone Beast. Strangely, pick axes don't 'slay' normal earth elementals.

If the player plans to mine a lot, he/she might consider corroding a pick axe by attacking some ochre jellies or gray oozes with it; Glod can repair a well corroded pickaxe for 1500, while he would charge 4500 for a normal one.

A guaranteed pickaxe can be found in the Pyramid. Dwarves often drop pick axes when killed, and dwarven chaos knights often drop either a wand of digging or pick axe. They can also be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot.
