Vary the quantity of chilli powder to suit the palate or use chopped fresh green chillis. Zom was a low-gravity planet. It was the homeworld of twenty million members of a once violent criminal race. Beyond the city of Zombus, the agricultural lands (used to grow Krakwheat) were mechanised. The rest of the planet was swamp. The Brains Trust were developed to find a solution to Zom's problems. They concluded the cause of all crime to be emotion. In the controlled environment of the City of Zombus, emotion was removed. This meant that the people of Zom were fitted with cranial sockets at birth, creating a direct link to the brain for the Harmoniser. In extreme cases a Ultra-Harmoniser was used for a full brain wipe. There was much resistance to this. Emotion was later restored following the Fourth Doctor's visit when the City was attacked by the Barabara. (COMIC: City of the Damned) At some point in its history, Zom was placed under the protection of the Galactic Heritage. (PROSE: The Tomorrow Windows) Zom claims to have been created to destroy, but his creator and the methods of his creation are unknown. Ages ago, he was defeated under unknown circumstances, which may have involved a union of several other extremely powerful beings, including Dormammu (the ruler of the Dark Dimension) and Eternity (the cosmic being representing the entire temporal axis of the Earth dimension). To protect the universe from his might, Zom's hands were bound with Chains of Living Bondage by Dormammu. Zom was forced to wear a Crown of Blindness, and his essence was imprisoned by Eternity within an Amphora in a "world beyond all worlds" in a "time beyond all time." However many years later Zom would be released and come to blows with Doctor Strange on several occassions - each time being reimprisoned. Zom's most recent return was in World War Hulk when a desperate Doctor Strange utilized Zom's power to take on the Hulk but became overwhelmed by the bloodthirsty demon and had to work together with several other heroes to stop Zom from worsening the situation.
