The Planet of Oz

The Planet of Oz was the title of an episode of "The World's Greatest Super Friends" which was part of the long-running animated television series, "Super Friends". In the episode, Mr. Mxyzptlk (pronounced "Mixle Plick"), a criminal magical imp from the 5th dimension, creates a world patterned loosely on the Land of Oz and uses a tornado to trap Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman on it. Superman was turned into a version of the Tin Woodman, Wonder Woman was turned into a female version of the Cowardly Lion, and Aquaman became a version of the Scarecrow. Mxyzptlk himself pretended to be the Wizard of Oz and also posed as the "Wicked Witch of the Worst Kind". The Munchkins on the planet of Oz were enemies of the Superfriends, and looked and sounded very much like Jawas from Star Wars. Mr. Mxyzptlk turns Superman, Aquaman and Wonder Woman into the Tin Woodsman, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz. After they pass various dangers he reveals his plan was to have them collect for him the ingredients of a potion that will make it so he doesn't have to go back to the 5th Dimension. He still goes back when he says his name backwards because they figured out what he was up to and switched the ingredients.
