The HMS Australia ( ) is the flagship of the Oceanian Imperial Navy and the first Australia-class carrier produced by the OIN. Laid down in 1999 and completed in 2002, it was commissioned in a ceremony with Prime Minister Geoffrey Rush attending in Sydney Harbour in early 2003, and it practiced in NATO wargames with the US Third Fleet shortly thereafter. It has been the lead ship in the Oceanian 1st Fleet's Center Group and at the time of its construction was regarded as one of the most advanced warships ever built.
