The Kingdom of Jarkonas is a kingdom in Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Price of Loyalty. The rulers of Jarkonas are the protagonists of the Descendants campaign. The kingdom was founded by Jarkonas I, who united the barbarian tribes by might and ruled over them. The kingdom grew and prospered, eventually gaining a rival in the kingdom of Harondale to the east. Harondale attacked Jarkonas' border towns, but the armies of Jarkonas finally emerged victorious. King Jarkonas III, a descendant of Jarkonas I, realized on his deathbed how weak the kingdom had grown over the years. He decided to send some of his heroes to locate other members of the family that could defend their ancestral lands, like Joseph, a famous wizard, or Crazy Uncle Ivan the Warmonger, the leader of a powerful barbarian clan. The family managed to defend their lands. 200 years after the nation was founded, a barbarian horde attacked several outposts on the southern border, claiming some for themselves and burning down others. Queen Geldria sent her armies south reclaim the towns, and they drove the horde back. Launching a treacherous attack on the castle of Ivory Gates, the kingdom of Harondale once again assaulted their neighbors. The fighting was fierce, but the soldiers of Jarkonas managed to reclaim the castle. Under Jarkonas VI, the kingdom of Jarkonas finally launched a large offensive against Harondale's main territory. The kingdom fell under their control, and Harondale's rulers fled to distant lands or were slain.
