E-88 Lightning Bird (E - 88 イダテンバード E - 88 Idatenbādo?) – robot z serii E, stworzony przez Doktora Eggmana. Eggman wykorzystał go podczas walki z Soniciem i Amy na farmie. During a confrontation with Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose, Dr. Eggman unleashed E-88 at them. When E-88 moved in to attack, it blinded Sonic and kidnapped Amy. Just as it was escaping, however, Sonic handed a critical hit on E-88, causing it to release Amy (this also caused one of E-88's chips to fall into Sonic's ear which would later make him run uncontrollably). Damaged, E-88 wandered around a nearby farm and acted like a local chicken until Amy arrived and attempted to destroy it, but E-88 avoided Amy and caught her in an electrical net. However, this pushed E-88 too far and it began to fall apart, allowing Sonic, who happened to be running by, to destroy it once and for all.
