Sastaretski Cargn was the Scarran envoy to the Sebacean Breakaway Colonies and accomplice of Prince Clavor. His main objective was to make sure that Clavor became the heir, paving the way for relations with the Scarran Empire. In order to remove Katralla, Cargn altered her DNA, making her incompatible with Sebacean males, and thus unable to bear children. This would have allowed Clavor, who was next in line, to assume the throne. By placing Clavor in Katralla's place, Clavor would ally the Breakaway Colonies with the Scarrans, effectively becoming a puppet of the Scarran Imperium. However, the arrival of John Crichton with Moya and later Scorpius greatly complicated their plans, particularly after Crichton was revealed to be compatible with Katralla. However, the arrival of John Crichton with Moya and later Scorpius greatly complicated their plans, particularly after Crichton was revealed to be compatible with Katralla. Clavor failed multiple attempts to kill Crichton, eventually blaming Cargn for this failure. After Crichton had escaped and disappeared, Cargn kidnapped Chiana, believing she knew Crichton's location. This turned out to be another dead end, though. Cargn, having nothing to lose, decided to kill Clavor, who had expressed anger at the failure of their plans and the end of Clavor's agreement to establish relations with the Scarran Empire should he take the throne. With his goals now out of reach, Cargn decided to take revenge against Crichton and his friends, planning to execute Chiana by dropping her into a vat of acid. Ka D'Argo and Scorpius arrived to stop him, but the chamber's intense heat incapacitated Scorpius and D'Argo knew he was no match for Cargn on his own. The timely arrival of Crichton, however, saved his friends as Crichton fired a number of pulse blasts into the Scarran, before knocking Cargn to his death into the vat of acid.
