Narrative Misfortune Syndrome
rdfs:comment
Narrative Misfortune Syndrome is a condition so far only found in Agent Stormsong. Coming as he did from Vengeance Quest, a goodfic with an actual plot and a reason for his intended death other than shock value/pity-inducing/etc, the levels of Narrativium in his blood are much higher than those of badfic characters, and the remaining plot in the back of his subconscious hasn't quite caught up with the fact that he's not going to die yet. The main effects of this problem are painful flashbacks to the death scene in question and a dreadful case of bad luck. The bad luck is brought on by the fact that karma and the Laws of Narrative now demand that he suffer at least as much as he would have done had he stayed behind to die. Going by the content of the death scene, this will take a long time.
