Javannah is a terran world slightly lager than Earth but with considerably higher density and mass. Its climate is warm and humid and especially around the equator air humidity is even higher than in earth's tropical regions. n14:abstract
Javannah is a terran world slightly lager than Earth but with considerably higher density and mass. Its climate is warm and humid and especially around the equator air humidity is even higher than in earth's tropical regions. The atmosphere, which is primarily composed of carbon dioxide, is filled with dense clouds of water vapour that rain down on the surface in great deluges. Big portions of Javannah's surface are covered with gigantic forests. The plants in these forests have thick trunks and only in rare occasions they are higher than 10 meters, since they have to support their own weight in an environment that is influenced by a gravity that is almost double that of Earth's. In these forests a huge variety of organisms thrives, some are similar to arthropodes, others can be described as semi-mobile hybrids between plants and animals. In general species on this world are rather minute in size, they have extremely fast metabolisms and short lifespans. Flying creatures are almost absent while marine life is incredibly varied and complex. The biggest creatures are found in the oceans, where they can more easily support their weight. One of these submarine species is also the only sentient species living on this world. The Naab are gigantic colonies of Jellyfish-like organisms that share their nervous systems and generate neural networks with considerable "computing power". By organizing their actions and planning on long term the Naab able to exert a considerable influence on the surrounding marine biomes. They create big fields populated by nutritious algae and weed out organisms that are detrimental to the fertility of the marine soil. For now the Naab are able to move only underwater but this may change in the next millenia, as the intelligence of the Naab is limited only by the size of their colonies, and their colonies are growing at a constant pace. With increased levels of intelligence they might be able to devise methods that enable them to survive on land.
