Amber Middleberry is a character portrayed by Stephanie Lynn in the ABC crime series Castle. Amber, as evidenced by her extensive photo collection, was not the corn-fed shrinking violet she played in Baron's All-American Beauty Pageant. The "Little Miss Wholesome" mask was one Amber seems to have been adept at wearing in private and public alike, and her father, Dan, in particular appears never to have picked up on the gaps between the facade and the fact. n37:abstract
Amber Middleberry is a character portrayed by Stephanie Lynn in the ABC crime series Castle. Amber, as evidenced by her extensive photo collection, was not the corn-fed shrinking violet she played in Baron's All-American Beauty Pageant. She was an active partner in a scheme to blackmail Victor Baron into handing her the pageant crown, and was willing to sleep with him to set up the raw material she would require for her extortion plan. The other half of the conspiracy, Jeremy Keiper, was Amber's boyfriend from back home, and the photographer who captured the vital, graphic moments that would lead to both their murders. The "Little Miss Wholesome" mask was one Amber seems to have been adept at wearing in private and public alike, and her father, Dan, in particular appears never to have picked up on the gaps between the facade and the fact. Amber had a manager, Justin Hankel, but he too was taken in by her thespian skills. At least at first. Justin, however, uncovered the truth, that Amber wasn't the victim, but rather the blackmailer, and he knew his career would be over if even rumors of her activities emerged. So Justin went to see Jeremy, and killed him, before moving on to murder Amber and place the body where its discovery would disrupt the pageant. Amber was, in the end, the headline of the event, just not the way she planned.
