Adam Reznov could be considered one of these men, willing to do what was good first and then whatever wicked scheme ONI had planned. Born to the lawlessness of the cities of Karelia, Reznov would find that the best way to survive in the violence of revolutions and conflict between those loyal to the UNSC and those willing to break all ties with Earth was to take a side and be willing to try and fight for a future free of war and chaos.

His idealistic quest for peace would perhaps ironically bring him to the Office of Naval Intelligence, after several years of service within the UNSC. There, he would prove himself one of the most unconventional, if rather effective field operatives, in spite of his eccentric personality. Even as he grew older, he would still continue his service to humanity against whatever threat seemed to loom against humanity, even as the UNSC crumbled with the Created invasion of the galaxy.
