The 1952-08 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Central City Speedway on April 27, 1952. Jack Smith led the first 186 laps from the pole, but fell to 16th after having wheel issues while leading. Instead Herb Thomas led the next twelve laps before the race was called for darkness, giving Thomas the victory over Fonty Flock. The eventual season champion Tim Flock finished 9th. Stats
