Zanar is the name of a blitzball commentator mentioned at the beginning of Final Fantasy X. He retrospectively talks about the loss of Jecht in Zanarkand that he and his son, Tidus, inhabited. In the Japanese version he is voiced by Junichi Suwabe. Zanar himself features in a commentary which is ongoing whilst the player controls Tidus towards the Zanarkand Dome. He talks of his experiences watching Jecht play blitzball, conversing about him with his father, and the Jecht Memorial Cup, in which Tidus plays. His vocal inflection is similar to that of Auron. Zanar is not named in the Japanese version. He is featured in the Encyclopedia of Final Fantasy X found in the Final Fantasy X Ultimania Omega under the name DJ.
