Wyatt Cain appears in all three episodes of the miniseries and is part of the central group of heroes also including DG, Glitch, and Raw. These characters are analogous to the central characters of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, with DG, Glitch, Cain, and Raw respectively representing Dorothy Gale, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion Cain is a former "Tin Man", one of the O.Z. (Outer Zone)'s law enforcers under the employ of the Mystic Man. After Azkadellia seized control of the O.Z. he sided with the resistance movement that rose up against her. He was captured by Zero, General of Azkadellia's Longcoats, and his wife and son were tortured in front of him. Believing them dead, he was placed in an iron suit and forced to watch a hologram of them repeatedly suffering. Freed by DG, he joins her in her quest to uncover her lost memories and also seeks revenge on Zero. As an ally Cain proves instrumental in helping DG in her quest. Along the way he confronts Zero and is nearly killed, but is told that his wife and son are alive. He later finds his wife's grave and is reunited with his son Jeb, who is now a leader of the resistance fighters. They capture Zero and Jeb wishes to execute him, but Cain convinces Jeb to let Zero live and instead locks him in an iron suit. Cain then sets out with the resistance to attack Azkadellia's fortress, attempting to stop her from using the Emerald of the Eclipse together with her Anti-Sun Seeder machine to lock the O.Z.'s two suns in place behind the moon during a double eclipse, which would leave the O.Z. in permanent darkness. In the climax of the story Cain assists the other main characters in shutting down the Anti-Sun Seeder while DG frees Azkadellia from the evil witch who has possessed her. With the witch destroyed the O.Z. is freed from her tyranny and once again bathed in the light of its two suns.
