Flugg was a brave, strong shrew of the Guosim, and a good friend of both Matthias and Log-a-Log. During the war against the Blackrobe Rats in the underground kingdom of Malkariss, Log-a-Log was mortally wounded. A handful of his shrews, Flugg among them, left the battle to carry him out of the darkness so he could die in the sunshine above ground. He had to stop and rest for a moment before they could lead him up the last flight of stairs, where they rescued the slaves. When they did, he pronounced Flugg as the new Log-a-Log, and died.
