Axbridge v Wookey Hole took place on 25th September 2011 at Allerton Cricket Ground and was Axbridge's last game of the 2011 season. This was a 35 over match. Axbridge won the toss and elected to bat first on a good looking Allerton track. Peverall & N Jarman opening the innings to a slow start scoring 17 from the first 5 overs then Peverall was caught off the bowling of Smart then 6 balls later he removed Manning for a duck. The Axbridge innings was not going any where till Packham arrived at the crease hitting 47 from 47 balls hitting 3 boundary fours and 1 six with good support from J Fisher 19 not out from 23 balls steering Axbridge to 136-7 from their 35 overs. In reply Wookey got off to a bad start with Greenhalgh removing the opening batsman O White for a duck, Vassali and Hill steadied the ship putting on a helpful 61 run partnership before Peters bowled the dangerous Vassali for 41. Here on in Wookey lost regular wickets with a great spell from J Fisher who finished with 4-11 from 7 overs. With Wookey needing 6 runs from the last over Peters started by bowling a no ball leaving just 5 runs from 6 balls. Peters went on to bowl a good 5 balls leaving 2 runs from the final ball, Peters bowled a good ball going through to keeper Turner, Turner hit the stumps and O Smart was given out leaving Axbridge winning by just 1 run.
