In 1944-45 he turned pro with the Buffalo Bisons and then spent the next season with the New Haven Ramblers and the Fort Worth Rangers. Although Pargeter started the 1946-47 season with the Springfield Indians, he was soon traded to the Montreal Canadiens farm team the Buffalo Bisons. He got into his four NHL games that yeat with the Canadiens, but also started a six year career (seven, counting the previous 1944-45 season) with the Bisons.
