Miniclip is a website for online games. It was founded in 2001, and as for today, it support 17 languages. The games in Miniclip's website are mostly created by Miniclip, but some of them are games by Armor Games and Nitrome. To one stanowią te 1,2%. Miniclip is an online company known for their browser-based games. The site was first launched on 2001[1] by Robert Small. Small was fresh out of university when he founded the company with Tihan Presbie, and today provides Cartoons and Ecards alongside their selection of games that are classic as well as new creations, and a Player section where you can create a player profile and challenge other gamers for highscores and awards. It is the world's largest online games website, with 43 million unique users per month and is also the largest privately held website on the Internet.[2] Its popularity originally arose from a game called Dancing Bush. Most games are created in Adobe Flash Player, and Shockwave, a handful in Java and one in Silverlight. Miniclip currently offers content in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Portuguese * Brazilian Portuguese. URL Slogan Play Free Games Commercial? Yes Type of site Internet games, E-cards & Animations Registration Optional Created by Miniclip Ltd. Forums Many new releases are given their own sub forum where players can share tips and offer help to other players. In some cases, game developers (noted with a bold blue name) will aid in assisting the players. Forums designated for specific games that do not receive active posts for longer than two months are deleted, and discussion moves to the category "Other Miniclip Games". Like most other forums, Miniclip also houses general discussion forums where users can chat about music, movies, video games, and sports, hold a debate, share and critique artwork, or tell a joke. A staff of moderators (noted with a bold orange name) keeps the forum problem free, by responding to reports and site violations. Overseeing the entire forum is a staff of administrators (noted with a bold green name), employees of the Miniclip company. Players A new addition to the Miniclip website is the Player's channel [1]. Miniclip Players can sign up and create their own unique avatars complete with a background and clothings, called "MiniMes". Players adds a social aspect to Miniclip.com allowing users to challenge other players' high scores, and win awards for completing certain tasks both on the site and in individual games. Miniclip Players is currently in beta and entered Improvement mode in July 2008[when?] whilst new features and bug fixes are implemented. Online Security Issues Several security firms reported in 2005 that some Miniclip users had installed a DLL "miniclipgameloader.dll" which contains the hostile code identified as "Trojan DownLoader 3069".[3][4] Removal tools are available. Reports in 2006 from the same security vendors show the same file as not containing hostile code.[5][6] In 2006, the security firm Sunbelt Software reported that Miniclip installed "high risk" malware called "Trojan-Downloader.CR64Loader".[7] On September 1, 2006, the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team issued an advisory concerning Miniclip.[8]. "The Retro64 / Miniclip CR64Loader ActiveX control contains a buffer overflow vulnerability. This may allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute an arbitrary code on a vulnerable system. ... Although the ActiveX control is no longer in use by either retro64.com or miniclip.com, any system that has used certain pages of these web sites in the past may be vulnerable." None of these reports showed any hostile activity. Top ten games Miniclip offers a list of the Top Ten most played games on the site. "Club Penguin" has been the number 1 game for over a year, apart from a blip in July 2008 when "Runescape" pushed up for a few days[when?]. The top 10 generally updates when new games are released however there are favourite games that, though they were released long ago, still visit the list occasionally. In late September 2008 and mid-October 2008 the game Commando 2 pushed past Club Penguin. Categories Miniclip has over thirty categories, spanning from Election '08 to E-Rated to Girls to Shoot 'em up, allowing a large audience Miniclip is a game website founded by Robert Small in 2001.
