Television's Greatest Performances was a special broadcast on ABC on November 23, 1995. Hosted by Jimmy Smits, the program spotlighted notable performances by singers, entertainers, and other notable television moments, such as Johnny Carson's final episode of The Tonight Show The special included a six minute piece on the death of Jim Henson in 1990. A large portion of the segment features scenes from The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson which was edited to include a photo montage at the end of the song "Just One Person." Peter Jennings introduces the segment which includes interview material with Charles Grodin, Hal Linden and Joan Ganz Cooney.
